About Me

I received my Bachelor of Arts from The University of Rhode Island in Elementary Education as well as Marine Affairs. While I was there I was the Foundation Representative of URI Kappa Delta Phi Honor Society and had the honor of being the Alan Shawn Feinstein College of Education commencement speaker of 2017. I also have my Master's in Education from Capella University with a specialization in Reading and Literacy. I have my SEI Endorsement so I am able to differentiate learning for learners from diverse backgrounds. I have experience being a lead elementary classroom teacher for 5 years and have a passion to make learning fun and engaging. I recently published an article for the educational journal Literacy Today about learning in the online setting titled "From the Unknown to the Reimagined".I have extensive experience preparing students to take standardized tests and have exceeded district-level goals for ELA academic performance. I believe all students have the ability to take ownership of their learning and in doing so, reach their fullest potential.
