About Me

I have always been passionate about helping others, and have always found fulfillment in learning and sharing new information, skills, and techniques. I have worked for the past 12 years to build my career as an educator. During the last 8 years, I have worked with elementary and preschool aged children, in the classroom and online. I started as an educational assistant, and received my Bachelors of Elementary Education, with an ESOL endorsement, from George Fox University in the spring of 2019. I then became a substitute teacher and an online ESOL teacher. This year, I have had the amazing opportunity to work in a Montessori preschool. I cannot put into words how fortunate I was to find this position. I have learned so much, and have found a teaching style that aligns more closely with my philosophy - children are more capable than we often expect. Through these experiences, I have learned that I enjoy teaching all subjects, but, because I have witnessed my husband's struggles with dyslexic, I am most passionate about literacy. I believe that my life's purpose is to help children learn, grow, and overcome their challenges.
