My focus is on giving students the fundamental skills they need to succeed rather than focusing on test-specific tricks. I am a graduate of the University of Chicago, where I received an MA in the humanities with a focus on on disability studies. For my undergraduate education, I attended Claremont Mckenna College where I focused on English Literature. I have worked as a tutor and academic coach for the past five years. I have a passion for helping students learn how to self-assess and structure their own work so that they can develop holistic, sustainable ways of learning. While I tutor a range of subjects, I most enjoy teaching English, Literature, Writing, and History. In my off time, I practice capoeira, an Afro-Brazilian martial art, and enjoy playing chess.
