About Me

I'm passionate about helping students reach their goals because I believe every student has the potential to succeed. I have six years of experience working with students in various settings, from an environmental education camp in northwest Pennsylvania to a bilingual school in Costa Rica. Most recently, I was a teaching assistant for undergraduate journalism classes at Arizona State University from August 2015 to May 2017. I also served as a Peace Corps volunteer in the Dominican Republic from 2012 to 2015. While I was there, I taught environmental education courses, helped coach a volleyball team, and taught an entrepreneurship course. I earned a master's degree in journalism from Arizona State University in May 2017. I attained a bachelor's degree in environmental science, with a minor in Spanish, from Allegheny College in Pennsylvania. I would love to tutor students in Spanish or environmental science -- some of my favorite subjects. I've spent more than four years living in Spanish-speaking countries and I love opportunities to help other people learn Spanish. Outside of academia, I enjoy outdoor activities such as running and hiking. I'm also an avid reader and I love to cook.
