About Me

I love working with people to help them develop a better understanding for mathematics so they can reach their goals. I have a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from UC Santa Barbara and a Master's degree in Teaching from Western Oregon University. I have been working with adult math students at a local community college for over 15 years and now I teach at Western Oregon University. I've also taught at the middle school and high school level in Oregon. As a tutor, I hope to help students who need extra time and an extra resource to succeed in their math pursuits. I have helped students who are taking independent study classes, students who are behind in their public school classes, and students who are studying for state exams. I know that most people don't share my love of the beauty of mathematics, but I hope to convince them of how math is such an important part of our everyday lives. Just as it is critical for people to be able to read in today's society, it is equally important for people to be mathematically literate.
