About Me

I am a recipient of Who's Who Among America's teaching award. I love tutoring students so I can get to know them and help them improve skills in reading and math. I have been tutoring students for the last seventeen years. I have also done home-bound tutoring for students with special needs. I have been a special education teacher and love working one to one or in small groups with students I tutor. I have a Bachelor's degree in Special Education from Illinois State University, a Graduate degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University, and another Advanced Graduate degree from Northern Illinois University as a Reading Specialist. I enjoy tutoring in writing and math, but my passion is tutoring in reading because I struggled with learning how to read when I was in school. I am passionate about helping my students improve writing, math, and reading because I struggled in school with those subjects.
