About Me

I am a proponent of a learner focused communicative mathematics teaching approach. I believe that as a teacher I should seek to motivate students and help them gain more interest in the subject matter I am teaching. I want my students to enjoy and feel comfortable learning in my classroom. At the same time, I also expect my students to work hard and actively participate in my lessons. Students who do not meet this requirement may be required to repeat lessons or courses. I also believe in focusing on understanding over learning by heart and creative analysis as opposed to routine imitation. Finally, I believe it is important as a teacher to show humility, compassion and genuine care for my students and to respect them as individuals. I understand that my responsibility is not just to teach my students mathematics, but also to teach them from a holistic perspective how to have a meaningful and successful life.
