About Me

I am an alumna of Centenary College of New Jersey and graduated in 2013 with a degree in English, as well as certification in Elementary Education and Special Education. I followed a traditional four-year degree that involved one year of practicum teaching, as well as another year of student teaching. During my time in college, I also worked as a tutor to a third grade student struggling with math, as well as a second grade ESL student. I am passionate about teaching in a way that students need to learn - in other words, working to their strengths in order to best suit their learning styles. I love to use a wide variety of manipulatives and other visual aids when teaching math, as well as visual organizers and conversational dialogue to work through a writing process. I base my teaching methods on the unique needs of each student, whether it is bodily/kinesthetic movement or some form of mathematical/logical thinking. Every student learns in a different way and I consider it my job to work with each child's unique set of skills, be it with graphic organizers, pictures, or other media!
