"When one teaches, two learn." Everyone learns differently, therefore I constantly enjoy finding new and creative ways to help my students understand the material that they find challenging. I hope to build a trusting relationship with my student so they feel comfortable asking me any questions or concerns they might have regarding the subject. I graduated from the University of Rochester with a Bachelor of Science in Brain and Cognitive Science. As an avid believer in the importance of education, I strive to apply this in all aspects of my life. During high school, I participated in a program called the READ Alliance where I taught struggling elementary school students how to read. While in college, I provided homework assistance to Turkish refugee students. My support in education is one reason why I currently aspire to be an Occupational Therapist. The goal of an Occupational Therapist is not just to treat the client but to educate them on the importance of safety and the reasoning behind every step. I enjoy motivating and observing the progress of individuals as they strive toward their goal. I am also interested in areas outside of academics. In my spare time, I enjoy various things ranging from playing sports to reading. However, I particularly love finding the hidden treasures of NYC, such as, “hole in the wall” restaurants and undiscovered breathtaking areas.
