About Me

I am a recent graduate from Brown University with a Bachelor of Science in Geology-Biology. I have been working with kids in a teaching environment since I was 14, when I worked as a teacher's aide at my local Hebrew School. In 2012, I spent the summer teaching teens how to live in the backcountry and repair trails in the White Mountains. I have been tutoring for the past year in English, writing, math from elementary through high school levels, standardized tests, and chemistry. I enjoy tutoring for the SAT and ACT the most; I feel like every problem is a puzzle and I love helping students learn how to work the puzzles themselves. My philosophy for tutoring is if one explanation doesn't work, try to explain in another way. I am a ubiquitously empathetic person, and it helps me approach problems and schoolwork through the students' perspective and find the best way to explain any given topic.
