I am a graduate of Vassar College and Trinity College Dublin, where I received my Ph.D. from the School of English in July of 2013. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, my passion is teaching writing. Working alongside Ireland's great poets and playwrights has taught me that good writing should spark the imagination as well as stand up to careful criticism. I love and understand the shape of the English language, from the components of a well-constructed sentence, to the structure of a paragraph, to the discursive crescendo of a well-written essay, and I convey these concepts to my students with passion and humor. I believe that each student brings unique talents and perspectives to the material, and I enjoy finding ways to help them connect with the topics at hand.
