About Me

I recently graduated from Adelphi University with an M.F.A. in Creative Writing (Playwriting Emphasis), and I have a B.S. in Theater from Black Hills State University. I moved around a lot as a child, and I have lived in eight different states including Florida, California, Ohio and South Dakota. I tutor a variety of English-related subjects. I love all aspects of reading and writing, but I have a special fondness for grammar and mechanics. I like to think of punctuation as musical notation, and I love the process of figuring out which words and symbols best serve what I am trying to say. Writing is an agent for self-expression, and I am passionate about helping students to master it. The way that I go about this is dependent on each student's personal strengths, which I asses and then build upon. In addition to tutoring, I also teach Creative Writing and English Composition at Adelphi University. In my spare time, I love to explore NYC. I see as much theater as I can fit into my schedule. I also love visiting the city's museums and parks.
