I'm a Junior at Texas A&M University. I was originally a biomedical engineering student, but have since transferred into biology with a minor in sociology. My career interest is in medicine. I have had previous experience with tutoring in high school when I was a member of the National Honor Society and mentored peers to help them excel in their math and science courses. I have also worked for Varsity Tutors for almost 6 months and have helped many students achieve better grades. I love sports, I'm sociable, I'm goal oriented, and can be competitive!

I am a graduate of Southern Methodist University. I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Studies, with a focus on acting and directing. Since beginning high school, I have spent much of my extracurricular and summer time tutoring, mentoring, and counseling students elementary though high school age. While a tutor a fair amount of subjects, I sincerely enjoy exploring English, Literature, and French. I love the English and Literatue because both subjects connect deeply to my love for theatre, and I love French because I have lived in France twice; once when I was 7 in Paris, and again when I was 16 in the Nord Pas-de-Calais region. I would say my teaching style depends directly on the student, but generally, I love acting like I'm a student too and find fun ways to address the issues they're facing in practical ways. I always try to get my students to appreciate the skills they develop by showing them how they're useful in everyday life. When I'm not tutoring, I enjoy trying new restaurants, going for a swim, practicing my singing, and going to acting class.

I am a graduate of East Carolina University with a bachelor's degree in elementary education. I earned my master's degree from Gardner-Webb University. I've been teaching for 19 years in elementary education and love seeing the light bulb click for students when they understand a concept or skill taught. I have tutored students in the lower elementary age group to help prevent summer learning loss as well as focus on areas of weakness they may be having in the classroom. I want to encourage and build upon what they already know. I believe that building a strong foundation of literacy and math skills in the lower elementary classroom is key to building a strong student for later school years.

I graduated from Houston Community College in May 2015 with an Associate in Science, and from Texas State University in May, 2018 from with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. I founded the Chess Club at Texas State University in fall of 2015, and was president of that organization for a year and a half. I contributed in writing the organization's constitution, code of ethics, grant proposals, and executive board member's handbook. I had the pleasure of coordinating a trip to the Southwest Collegiate Championship in spring 2017, where I trained and took two teams of three individuals. Along with this, I had the opportunity to study abroad in Queretaro, Mexico in summer of 2016 for a month. I also mentored for two years through P-16 Initiatives and Personalized Academic and Career Exploration at Texas State University. I have also worked as mathematics instructor at Mathnasium, and as a permanent substitute for a Math vacancy in San Antonio Independent School District from Dec. 4, 2018 to Jan. 18, 2019. Outside from teaching, I enjoy yoga, biking, and spending quality time with my loved ones. I am an enthusiastic well rounded individual who is ready to educate the future in the best way possible.

Additionally, I have taught elementary gifted and talented and helped prepare high school students for the SAT, ACT, and PSAT while serving as the Advanced Academic Coordinator. In my experience helping struggling students prepare for Standardized Tests, we create breakthrough moments that help us both become better teachers and learners.. I am a firm proponent of education, believing it to be absolutely necessary for an improved quality of life, and I try to impart this appreciation to all of my students. In my spare time, I enjoy reading that which enriches my life, yoga, running, working in the yard, and spending time with my family.
