I am a professional tutor with years of experience. I have helped students jump letter grades and improve as much as 8 composite points on the ACT and 200 points on the SAT. I have over 6 years and 1000 hours of test prep experience and over 6 years of experience tutoring math up to and including calculus, various science subjects, English, and Spanish. I like to meet all the tutoring needs of a student. This includes covering not only the academic subjects (including math, science, and language) and test prep (ACT and SAT) but also assisting with study skills and organization. I also have experience in working with students with various learning disabilities, including ADD/ADHD. I have helped students in all levels of courses, including honors and AP levels.

I am currently a fourth year medical student in Indianapolis. I completed my undergraduate education at Indiana University Bloomington, where I majored in Biology and Spanish. I also completed two minors in Mathematics and Chemistry. While at IU, I worked for the Department of Mathematics and Department of Spanish. I also worked as a Peer Tutor for the IU Athletics Department, tutoring in several subjects including statistics, chemistry, physics, and Spanish. I graduated from college with a 4.0, and I entered medical school shortly thereafter. Since coming to medical school, I have excelled in all of my pre-clinical coursework, and I currently rank in the Top 20% of my class. I feel very comfortable and confident tutoring other students in a variety of subjects from math and science to Spanish. I like to think that the same techniques I have used to excel in all phases of my education can be easily adapted to other students and help you achieve your academic goals, just as I have!

I am currently a teacher for the SAT. I'm very excited to be a tutor for VarsityTutors. I have a very methodical approach to teaching. I want the students to understand the rationale behind the question. Yes, the student may get a specific question right, but what about other problems? Will the student have the skill set to solve other problems. To aid the student in learning, I draw in examples from other disciplines or my own experience when I learned the topic and what helped me in my own understanding.

I'm currently a Process Assistant at an Amazon warehouse, which is like an assistant manager. My job is interesting, active, and varied, but I missed tutoring and want to make math and other subjects as easy as possible to approach and grasp for students. With the right time and a commitment to tailoring a tutoring style for the person being assisted, any student can pass their classes and retain lifelong knowledge and experience. I'm fluent in Spanish and proficient in Mandarin. I worked with all the Spanish speaking clients as a paralegal at a law firm and lived in Nanjing China while I studied at Nanjing University. I'm also TEFL certified.

I am a Psychology major with a Pre-Physical Therapy concentration and plan to attend the UIndy Doctorate of Physical Therapy graduate school after my undergrad years. In my free time from school, I enjoy watching sports, cheering on my favorite sports teams in person, playing guitar, working out and playing intramural sports, and hanging out with friends and family.
