I'm a big believer and advocate for brain-based reading strategies and have found the Orton Gillingham method to be highly effective in teaching students to read. I believe all students can succeed with the right guidance, and it starts with building a foundation of sound recognition and spelling rules.

I am beginning to understand what is effective in alleviating this problem at the individual level. I strive to create a classroom that is a safe place for positive self expression where there is a joy in learning. I am a graduate of Indiana University. I received a B.A. in French and International Studies. I also received a M.A. in Public and Environmental Affairs and a M.S.Ed. in School Counseling. I am passionate about helping students achieve their goals! I spent the past year as an ESOL teacher at a public high school and middle school in France.
