I grew up in Florissant, in the public school system. I valued the education I received. I then attended and graduated from the University of Missouri- St. Louis, following my passion, teaching. Since graduating, I have been able to pursue my career in education. In the Ferguson Florissant school district, I have completed two years of teaching. I have taught 3rd grade one year, and recently taught 6th. Each year, my students have made an impact on me. They will always hold a place in my heart and be my students. I am dedicated to helping others succeed. Which is what brought me to teaching. I want to share my passion with others and be apart of their growth. By the time we are finished, the student will have an intuitive feel for the concepts and will know which formula to apply to any given problem.When teaching History, the focus will always be on the big picture. Last summer, I had the opportunity from the National Science Foundation to do undergraduate research at Southern Illinois University Carbondale developing nano-structures to optimize a new type of solar cell. I try and stay active playing intramural softball, soccer and floor hockey in college. I am also somewhat adventurous and love to go hiking and fishing whenever I get the opportunity.
