I am a graduate of Greenville College where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. I am also a certified ESL instructor. Since graduation, I have taught English Literature at a bilingual school in Mexico and developed and run a reading program for inner-city children in Nashville, TN. I am passionate about language, whether English or Spanish, and I love finding creative ways to improve language skills and make learning fun. In my free time, I enjoy taking yoga classes, painting, and drinking good coffee.

I am a graduate student in biological anthropology at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. I moved here from Kansas City (grew up in Central KS) to attend school though I come from a family of Packers fans. My graduate research is very multi-disciplinary covering content in anthropology, biology, psychology, neuroscience, and some public health as well. As an undergraduate, I did a double major in Anthropology and Theatre & Film then went back to school to do pre-medicine and molecular biosciences. Prior to my emergence as a teacher, I was a phlebotomist for several years and worked in a research laboratory for the University of Kansas Medical Center. Outside of working as a teaching assistant and my own classes, I function as the president of the Anthropology Student Union, take dance classes, watch Mad Men and Game of Thrones, and try to keep up with my favorites sports teams.I enjoy tutoring because I get the opportunity to do more as a mentor. As a tutor, I want to help the student learn new concepts while also teaching them study skills that are usually not taught in a classroom but only get better with practice. My teaching philosophy is to encourage the student to be confident with the material versus striving for perfect memorization. Different individuals learn some things better than others and it is about finding a way to make that information important or real based on your personal memory recall. For example, do not ever make me change a tire... Though I have seen it done multiple times, I never had to do it myself so I never learned!

These subjects are my passion and I have helped to tutor numerous fellow students along the way. Graduated from eastern Michigan University with a bachelors degree in Linguistics and a minor in Japanese. I have also spent a year studying abroad in Japan at the Japan center for Michigan Universities in Hikone. As evidenced by my field of study I find that language is what I am most passionate about and more specifically Japanese. perhaps due to my background in linguistics I find that I tend to like taking a more technical approach to the idea of language learning and try to add elements of the science of it into the study. for example, talking about the difference in construction between two languages and how understanding these differences can help with the language learning process. As someone who studied linguistics I have a passion for language learning in all of its forms and I try to impart a bit of that passion on students as learning another language in in my opinion one of the most valuable and rewarding things that a person can do. Outside of academics I am a big fan of film as well as an automotive enthusiast.

I received my Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry with a Minor in Mathematics from Alvernia University in Reading, PA. I proceeded to work for four years full-time following my undergraduate studies, with one year spent as a dental laboratory technician and three years employed as a nursing assistant. I completed my graduate studies at the University of Saint Joseph, in West Hartford, CT, and achieved a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. In August of 2022, I passed the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination (PANCE) and became a Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C). While I am excited to tutor students in preparation for the PANCE, medicine, medical terminology, and other subjects, my true passion is vested in helping others achieve the goals they have set forth for themselves. I first discovered this enthusiasm serving as a science and mathematics tutor during my undergraduate years, and I feel that it is my responsibility to impart the knowledge that I have gained from my education for the benefit of others. I spent a year (August 2022 - 2023) teaching grades three through six at two elementary schools in Daejeon, South Korea. During my time as an English teacher in Korea, I have found ways to make lessons engaging and beneficial. Getting a good grasp of concepts within any subject at the foundational level is very important for growth in said subject, which is why I chose to tutor at the elementary level.Prior to my time living in Korea, I took Korean classes all throughout my college career, completing up to Advanced Korean: Level 2 (earning an A in every course). I also had the honor of being a TA for Korean 101 taught at the university. I employed all that I knew to help my students get a better grasp of the Korean language and build on their conversational skills.Now, I have returned to the States and am a first year law student at Case Western Reserve University School of Law. Although I no longer live in Korea, I would still love to use the skills that I have developed over the years in teaching English and Korean to help others achieve their academic/educational goals, just as I have achieved my own. I am also knowledgeable across a variety of corporate finance topics such as M&A, financial accounting and capital markets.
