I recently left my post as a graduate student and researcher at Stanford University to pursue a career in medicine. My educational journey has been a long one, but I've always loved learning and that love has kept me in school (whether for better or worse :P) for more years than I can count. Though I don't plan on being a student forever, the time that I've spent preparing for college, graduate school, and now medical school has reminded me of how enabling a strong academic record can be.I've been tutoring since I was in high school and have worked with students at every level of education. I specialize in teaching from a very fundamental perspective and in building concepts from the ground up but also enjoy helping students to "just get done" with their homework. Though I'm particularly fond of math and science, I can provide assistance in almost any subject (from Latin to world geography to art history), and can also help in preparing students for standardized tests such as the SAT, GRE, and MCAT.Above all though, my approach to tutoring is simply about having fun and inspiring students to do their best. Assignments and tests are really just chances for students to demonstrate how much they already know, and allowing each student to shine at his or her brightest is what tutoring is all about.

I received a Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology Major (B.S.) and History Minor from Emory University.Throughout my undergraduate years, I worked as a Biology teaching assistant at Emory (leading review sessions in the advanced and introductory courses). Today, I mainly tutor students in Biology-related courses, including Human Physiology and Neuroscience. As a medical student at New York Medical College, I hope to offer students interested in a career in medicine additional breadth and specialized mentoring. Moreover, I also enjoy writing and would be more than happy to assist with college essays, especially scientific writing. In my free time, I enjoy volunteering as an EMT at a local ambulance corps, reading, and cooking.

Tutoring and teaching students has been a passion of mine since high school! I have experience in subjects such as Calculus, Chemistry and English. Recently I returned from Taiwan, where I taught English as a second language. Since I have been back in the US, I have been preparing for the MCAT and medical school admissions. I received my BS in Biochemistry from the U of A in 2011 and am the recipient of the National Merit Scholar award. I am looking forward to helping you succeed!

I am a graduate of the University of California Santa Barbara. I received my Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences. I am currently a 3rd year dental student at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. I have tutored students from all backgrounds and ages, more specifically with a focus on elementary to high school education. My experiences range from instructing low-income and minority fifth grade students to that of high level 12th grade private school institutions. My favorite subjects to tutor are that of biology, including the topics of anatomy, microbiology, and physiology. I truly enjoy teaching biology because I believe that the human body is such a dynamic process and that there are so many advancements that have yet to be made in the field of science. In terms of my teaching philosophy, I believe in creating a nurturing environment inundated with encouragement, repetition, and positive feedback that allows my students to grow and develop accordingly. In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors and participate in many activities such as hiking, bicycling, swimming, going to the beach, and traveling to captivating foreign lands.

I graduated from Emory University in 2014 with a BS degree in Neuroscience. Since then, I have started medical school at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University. Given my strong science background, I feel most comfortable tutoring the life sciences, but I am also interested in tutoring Math, French, and Reading/Writing, including editing papers for content as well as grammar and syntax. I try to take a personable approach to tutoring, helping others relate the material to their own interests in order to help bridge the gap between one's own knowledge and a seemingly confusing realm of material. Together, we can work towards fostering an interest in lifelong learning, while keeping the material fun and engaging along the way. Apart from my studies, I'm passionate about dance, having dabbled in various forms of South Asian dance including Bollywood, garba/raas, bhangra, and classical, and I also like to cook and travel to new places.

As part of my Ph.D. work at VCU, I decided to teach an Introductory Biology laboratory. This was my first experience teaching in class and I absolutely loved it. My students initially thought I was hard, but as time went on they realized that my style of teaching was beneficial to them and they did well in the lab class.I then taught lab techniques while doing fellowship at the NIH to summer students and thoroughly enjoyed it. My students loved the way I explained things to them in detail and also the fact that I pushed them to being independent but being there for them when needed.I obviously do not have a strong tutoring experience, but I know I have a penchant for the biological sciences and skills in reading and writing, which would allow me to impart this knowledge to a student who needs the extra help. Please don't hesitate to contact me when required.

My earliest childhood memory is in a classroom in Germany. I started school overseas on an Army base and I remember feeling fascinated with my surroundings. New books, new people, toys, paper and crayons were all within my grasp and sweet faced old woman was standing in front of the room excited to equip me with the knowledge of how to proceed. I loved school and academia since then and gravitated towards the sciences around middle school. I knew from early on that I wanted to become a physician but I also knew that I additionally wanted to continue to pass the information that I learned on. See one, do one, teach one has become of my favorite mantras. In teaching students I believe in using real world applications to excite the audience about the material they are getting ready to learn. I believe the first 10 minutes of every lecture is the most crucial and typically start off with a problem/quiz that will relate to the information of the day to captivate the classroom. Interaction is a key to learning. I attempt to personalize it at every opportunity hoping that students realize that sitting back and passively absorbing knowledge is not an option or a key ingredient in the recipe for success.Another important aspect to teaching is incorporating methods that apply to all different learning styles. Realizing that students are diverse and you are constantly speaking to a mix of auditory, visual or tactile learners is important and should be noted with every lesson plan. The beauty of science is that the topic can be manipulated to accommodate all styles and promote knowledge.Ultimately, my goal is to give someone the same sense of wonder that so many excellent professors have done for me over the years. To quote Socrates "I cannot teach anybody anything. I can only make them think" and hopefully as an adjunct professor that is exactly what I will do.

I graduated from the University of Nevada at Las Vegas receiving my bachelor's in psychology and biology. My future goal is to attain a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) at an American accredited dental university. Tutoring has been a part of my journey since I was an undergraduate, volunteering at an elementary school to tutors kids in sciences, English and mathematics, although these are some of the subjects, I am most passionate about human anatomy and physiology, biology, organic chemistry. Learning the techniques and formulas to succeed in education is really important and I will try to do everything to help you achieve your goals. I believe that getting the basics down are one of the most important foundations in education. In my spare time, I try to go to the gym, get engaged in community service and volunteer at the hospital.

I am a medical student who took time off between my 3rd and 4th year to conduct orthopedic research at NYU medical center. I love the medical field and would like to pursue a career in orthopedics. The aspect of medicine that I hold most dearly is always having interaction and hopefully having a change to leave a positive impression. I enjoy meeting new people and hearing their story. If there is anything I can do to help them on their journey, it would be my pleasure. I grew up outside of Chicago, have travelled around the world, and snowboard as much as I can every winter. I've always been interested in medicine and that goal has always driven me to try my hardest and be all that I can be, not only in school, but in every aspect of life. That's my story, but I want to hear yours. Let me help you reach your goals.
