I am a graduate of the University of Florida, where I majored in English and minored in Linguistics. I truly love writing and have a passion for spelling and grammar. I am confident that I can help any student become a better writer.Throughout high school, I worked with a boy through his third and fourth grade years to improve his writing skills for the FCAT, the state standardized exam in Florida, which he successfully passed at the conclusion of my tutelage.Standardized testing has always come naturally to me and I scored very well on my SAT test. I am a double graduate of Columbus State University where I majored in Political Science and received my Master's degree in Public Administration. While in school, I began a non-profit called "MyCivics" where we specialized in tutoring students in the social sciences such as politics, government, history and other areas. Currently, I am in school for my Ph.D. in Public Policy and work full-time in local government as a public administrator.Why do people make the decisions that they make? That's the question that I have dedicated to spending my career hoping to answer. As a student of politics and government, it is my job to not only learn, but also help others learn about the decision-making processes that affect their lives every day. I want to be able to apply my mathematics skills that I have advanced throughout my University years and help as many people that I can! These different positions have pushed me to broaden my perspective on how to communicate with students and address the topics they do not understand. While my educational background has more than prepared me to understand the basics of the science subjects that my students were studying, my goal as an instructor reaches beyond simply teaching the lesson; I also aim to spark my student's interests in the subject and make the lesson fun for them. I know from personal experience that learning any lesson is easier when one is interested and enjoys the learning experience. Growing up in the southwest of the United States, I started learning Spanish at age 9 in the classroom; went on my first student exchange at 10; continued taking Spanish throughout high school and completed a minor in my undergraduate degree. I went on to serve in the Peace Corps in Ecuador and then returned to teach Spanish to high school students as a long-term substitute teacher. I enjoy speaking Spanish and tutoring others to grow to enjoy the language too.

I've taken many dual enrollment math courses at local colleges, including Calculus 1,2, and 3, as well as linear algebra. I also do a lot of test prep, as I've actually taken the SAT 5 times and scored a 1590, so I'm very used to standardized testing. I love helping people, so I hope I can help you!
