I graduated from Central High School in Keller, TX in May 2011 and received a B.S in Human Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Arkansas in May 2016. I am currently working in health care with the hopes of becoming a physician assistant. While I tutor for a broad range of subjects, I have a love for nutrition, science, and medicine. I am a Microbiologist at Washington University that studies the parasite that causes malaria. I have been mentoring, teaching and tutoring students at all levels from my time as an undergraduate at Brown University, through my graduate studies at MIT to my current research position now at Washington University. In college I tutored Biology, Chemistry and Organic Chemistry to fellow undergraduates. In graduate school I was a teaching assistant for undergraduate courses in Immunology and Genetics.The combination of my research experience along with my teaching experience means that I use the things I learned in Math, Chemistry and Biology on a daily basis.My approach to tutoring and teaching is to focus on the concepts that are crucial for the students to understand the material. After spending a year working as a consulting actuary, I decided to make a career change and returned to school to pursue a future as an optometrist. My motivation for this drastic career change was due to my passion for helping others and my desire to work more closely with people of all ages. I have an extensive background in mathematics and first-hand experience applying math to real world problems while working as an actuary. One of my main strengths that has been utilized in my work experience is my ability to explain complex mathematical concepts to others and to test for their understanding.
