I am a recent graduate from The University of Georgia in Genetics with a minor in Math. Like most students prior to the start of college, I always pondered: Why do I need to take all of these math classes if I am a science major? When will I ever use this in my life? The answer came to me once I entered into college and took my first couple of math classes. I discovered that mathematics and science interchange with each other and understanding one will enable you to have a deeper comprehension of the other.I started tutoring fellow classmates throughout my high school career. The topics that I tutored ranged from pre-algebra to pre-calculus. In college, I began to tutor my classmates in Calculus I and II along with many science courses such as Biology, Organic Chemistry, and Genetics.When I teach my classmates about any topic, I will always initiate by asking them questions regarding the topic they are struggling with. This will allow me to know specifically where and what they are struggling with and need help in. Afterward, I will clearly explain and clarify any misunderstanding they have. Once they believe that they have completely understood the topic, I will then ask them to explain it to me. My main theme is that "If a student is unable to explain to me the concept, then he/she does not understand the topic." My desire to tutor others is not only to help them figure out many approaches to solve a problem or understand a concept, but I also want them to understand the importance of what they are learning and its applications to real life. This will enlighten them and make them want to learn more, not just to know the topic and stop.During my free time, I love playing basketball and going bowling with friends. One of the games that I love to play the most is Chess because it allows me to think ahead and it opens my mind to many possibilities.

I am a current Biomedical and Mechanical Engineering student. I have always loved learning and helping others and have had a special love for math and science I hope to help others foster as well.

I graduated Spring 2016 with a Bachelors Degree in Mathematics and Economics from New York University. I was inspired by a passionate math teacher in the third grade and since then I haven't stopped learning and loving the subject as well as broadening my knowledge in relevant areas. I began tutoring math during my high school years and have always enjoyed helping others. I volunteered with Juggling Life, Inc. for which I was a juggling instructor for ill and disadvantaged people of all ages. I also competed for the NCAA Cross Country and Track and Field Teams at NYU which I led and assisted in the development of during my final two years at NYU.

I'm a sophomore at Cornell University, and a recent graduate from Stuyvesant High School (a specialized high school in downtown Manhattan). I have much experience tutoring kids from ages 6 to 18 through the company Allen Mentoring in subjects such as physics, math, english, and history. I have scored a 34 on my ACT exam (out of 36). Through all my years of schooling, I have developed a deep love and understanding for science and mathematics and I enjoy passing on my experience and passion for the subjects through tutoring. The search for answers to any question beginning with "why" has taught me everything I know -- and put me in a position to disseminate my knowledge to other people. Tutoring is the best possible way for me to do that.

Since I began tutoring 8 years at the beginning of high school, I had not realized that a job that I had initially taken to help pay for the luxuries that my parents could not afford would become one of the brightest and meaningful opportunities I would ever be a part of. At Kumon, I worked with hundreds of students who were challenged with mastering the subjects they were expected to learn and challenged with material they were yet to know; it was both difficult and satisfying to see students struggling with a subject develop over time. Most of the jobs I have worked since then have allowed me to watch kids from elementary to high school grow over the course of years, and I have done my best to make sure they develop a capacity and enjoyment of learning. Even as a graduate of chemistry, I continue to tutor because it is one of, if not the most, impactful way to positively affect the younger generation, and I am glad to be a part of their growth,

During this period, I have learned how to recognize and identify individual learning-personalities and common challenges students have.I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Biology at Benedictine University and my Master's Degree in Applied Data Science at the University of Michigan. Helping others is something I have always enjoyed, and one of the ways I like to do so is through tutoring. I strongly believe in creating visual and sequential learning patterns that enable students to understand and remember their coursework more easily.
