Certified Tutor

Hi! My name is Erin. As a college student studying journalism, I adamantly value education and media literacy. As such, I am passionate about helping younger generations and peers to understand the importance of learning and honing curiosity. I have tutored peers and K-12 students for years and am proficient in teaching all grades of ELA/English, literature, grammar, history and sociology. Further, I can tutor math and science up to 10th grade (or sophomore year of high school). As a teaching philosophy, I strongly believe in the importance of connecting with students and catering sessions to their educational preferences and needs. While working toward my bachelor's degree in journalism with a minor in political science, I have won numerous awards for my journalistic writing from the New Jersey Press Association and consistently made the Dean's List. In addition to Varsity Tutors, I work as a writer for The Borgen Project and a freelance journalist.
