I believe that education should be as diverse and unique as the people receiving it. I've been tutoring students on and off for seven years, starting with drop in students at my local community college and later specializing in working with neurodivergent students trying to adjust to college life. If that experience has taught me anything, it's that no two people learn in the exact same way! I firmly believe in getting to know my students and helping them learn how they work best, both so that I can more efficiently guide their study and so that can take charge of their own future learning. Though I've worked with students on everything from algebra to anatomy and physiology, my favorite subjects to tutor will always be History and Philosophy which were my two majors at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Both of those subjects encourage us to examine the world around us in ways we otherwise might not have which I find endlessly fascinating and immensely beneficial to our own personal development as thinkers and learners. Outside of academics I enjoy games of all sorts (especially dungeons and dragons!), taking walks with my tiny dog Leeloo, and writing novels and short stories.
