We are all connected by our curiosity. It's human nature! And this is what drives my long-lasting love of learning and dedication to spreading that enthusiasm whenever I can. I am a rising sophomore at Boston University pursuing a degree in Neurobiology on the pre-medical track. In Tampa, I graduated from the IB Program at Hillsborough High School in 2018. Over the summer, I also work at the Digestive Health Institute at AdventHealth Hospital Tampa as a clinical research intern, where I have written and published two papers for publication. Healthcare has always appealed to me, because it connects the part of me that loves science with the part that wants to care for others and be in a position to educate people on how to live healthier lives. As a researcher, I have learned many teaching presentation strategies by preparing talks to give to other students, parents, and doctors at the hospital and even medical conferences. I love to teach a wide range of subjects, from science (primarily chemistry and biology) to reading/writing. At BU, I am a part of the Core Curriculum, which incorporates small, discussion-based classes where we analyze great works of literature in depth which have shaped human thought over time. I am also taking a class in education philosophy to supplement my job as a Learning Assistant where I will help teach discussion classes in the chemistry department. Also, as a recent high school graduate I can provide a lot of help studying for standardized tests, such as the SAT and ACT, or the college application process. Finally, I have a great love of music and have been playing instruments in my spare time since I was very little: piano, trumpet, guitar, and even the ukulele!
