I am a passionate believer in the idea that the world will become a better place if everyone learns and understands more about themselves and others. I love the world of academia and I love that some of the strongest relationships can occur over a good book, a derivative, or even a historical fact about Aaron Burr (who is, granted, a historical anomaly). I see the institution of education as flawed, which causes many students to disconnect from learning; I hope to help students reconnect with subjects and appreciate them for the content, instead of having them reserve a deep-seated bias against a certain subject. I hope to build connections between students and educational materials, in spite of all the struggles happening outside in the world today.
