I am very happy with our experience so far with Varsity Tutors. They matched my daughter with reading specialist Mary and she is wonderful! My 10 year old daughter feels happy after her sessions and believes her tutor has already helped her.

Certified Tutor

I am currently a second year law student at Harvard Law School. I am passionate about public interest law, particularly immigration and criminal defense.

I graduated in 2011 from Washington University in St. Louis, where I received a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Spanish, with a minor in Applied Linguistics. After graduating, I worked as a Peace Corps volunteer in Africa (Cape Verde and Mozambique). While there, I taught English, Entrepreneurship and Biology at a local high school. I also started an English Theatre Club and worked on community development projects. I have taught high school in Chile and Africa, as well as college-level Spanish subsection classes while at Washington University. I have experience tutoring English and Spanish to all age levels. I have also tutored writing and job search and career planning skills, but my primary experience is in teaching SAT and LSAT test prep.

In high school, I completed the International Baccalaureate (IB) program, with particular success in European History and World Literature. I feel comfortable teaching a majority of high school subjects, but my favorite subject to tutor is Test Prep, particularly the SAT and LSAT. I enjoy introducing students to the exams and preparing them for success on test day. I think becoming familiar with the form and content of the test can make all the difference! I also enjoy teaching study skills so that students can excel both in their individual study time and during our study sessions.

I love music, theatre, volunteering and traveling. I believe in the importance of experiencing cultures that are different from their own and, in doing so, learning more about yourself.
