Spent entire session reading and discussing The Christmas Carol and answering the 16 questions on the reading. Vocabulary workbook pages, Spanish project research, and Social Studies study sheet need to be completed over the weekend.

The student and I reviewed the greetings homework and began work on the persons and verb conjugation. We started with the two verbs for "to be:" "ser" and "estar." We had to review persons and conjugation in English before moving onto Spanish. We reviewed conjugation in English as a strategy to attempt it in Spanish. I left them with two pages of homework on the verb "ser."

Finance Tutoring review by Noah in Provo, UT
The student's homework for the day was more difficult than usual. The problems required a deeper level of analysis using different angle theorems. As I was explaining the problems, she seemed to be understanding all the steps. She was able to identify certain angle theorems independently, thus showing improvement from when we started. She still needs to work on her algebra solving skills, since this has become an integral part of the Geometry class. All in all, a very productive session.

Today, we focused on the English portion. He did very well with many of the reading comprehension questions but struggled a lot with the vocabulary questions. The test no longer has a long section on vocabulary but still asks questions about what words mean in specific contexts, so he really should practice answering those types of questions.

We covered single and two digit long division problems. He vastly improved from the previous session in analyzing the problem and determining the proper steps to solve. He will need to improve on organization when writing long division problems and knowing multiples and times tables in order to solve problems more accurately and quickly. Much better and more efficient session than Wednesday. Also, we reviewed 9 times tables for a quiz on Friday, which he shows full mastery.

Finance Tutoring review by Lawrence in Provo, UT
We went over elasticities some more, and I provided a web site that does a good job of reviewing the different types of problems with elasticities. We covered the main points about consumer theory and began the theory of the firm with production. The student will send a syllabus for the class that just started. It may not make sense to get too far ahead of the class. We can at any time work on current homework in the class and preparing for tests as needed.
