Bitcoin and Blockchain Basics
with Philip Martin, Chief Information Security Officer
Coinbase is building the cryptoeconomy — a more fair, accessible, efficient, and transparent financial system enabled by crypto. The company started in 2012 with the radical idea that anyone, anywhere, should be able to easily and securely send and receive Bitcoin. Today, approximately 43 million users in over 100 countries trust Coinbase to easily and securely invest, spend, save, earn, and use crypto.
About the class
From the barter system to gold coins to dollar bills and now crypto, currency is ever-evolving to better facilitate transactions and to help people store their value. Join Coinbase to explore the world of money: what it is, what we need it to be, and how Bitcoin and the blockchain and other cryptocurrencies can make it even more valuable. You’ll visit overseas entrepreneurs, meet unassuming trillionaires, and investigate how cryptocurrency can help bring more economic freedom to the world.
