Since I graduated from Wuhan Medical University, I have gained over a decade of experience in teaching Mandarin Chinese to English-speaking students. I have experience working with students from elementary school age to high school age, whether they don't yet know pinyin (the Chinese alphabet) or need help preparing for an exam to receive foreign language credits. As a teacher, I believe that individualized attention and custom curriculums can make a big difference, which is why I develop all of my teaching material myself. I tailor my classes to each student's personal goals, whether that means focusing on conversational basics or spending more time writing compositions. In my spare time, I'm a photographer, a gardener, and a swimmer.

I am a Mechanical Engineer. At the moment though, I have decided to change directions and pursue a career in medicine. As I go to school part time and prepare for my MCAT, I am tutoring physics, mathematics, biology, and chemistry, here at Varsity Tutors with my spare time.I graduated from New York Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and then obtained my Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Stony Brook University.I'm able to tutor physics, math, chemistry, and biology from grades 7-12 and the collegiate level. For those looking to get straight A's throughout the semester or ace the regents, let's start the year off on the right foot.My teaching methods are excellent, and unlike most tutors, I bring fun and excitement to the subject, because we all know how boring the physical and biological sciences can be at times. I was also an assistant teacher for calculus, college algebra, and various other college-level math courses. I love math, but I also realize that not every student feels the same way I do. Born and raised in New Jersey, I completed my Bachelors degree at The College of New Jersey. I earned my degree in Biology with a minor in Law, Philosophy and Politics. I played lacrosse for The College of New Jersey's Women's lacrosse team where we won a Division III National Championship during my time there.I continued on at The College of New Jersey completing my Masters degree in Teaching and earning my teaching certificate for Secondary Education.I have also taught small class and done private tutoring for SAT/ACT for another tutoring company.I think it is very important when teaching and tutoring students to engage their minds in to the content. More importantly, I feel that learning is a lifelong process that we should all continue even past our days in school, therefore teaching students HOW to learn is just important as the what they are learning.
