Sydney: Chino tutor
Certified Tutor
I am a graduate of Princeton University where I received my bachelors degree in Philosophy with a minor in Arabic Language and Culture. After a year working at a non-profit in Washington, D.C., I moved to California to start my JD-PhD program in Law and Philosophy at Stanford University. In my last five years of graduate school, I have had numerous opportunities to both teach and tutor students on a range of topics, from general writing guidance, to preparing admissions and scholarship application essays, to LSAT and SAT prep. I am passionate about fostering collaborative learning environments, because they have been so important to my success in undergrad, law school, and still today as a PhD candidate. A decade in higher ed has taught me a lot about teaching, and I believe that students thrive when they feel empowered to express their ideas and take ownership of their work. So if you're looking for support with college applications, essays, or standardized test preparation (or a movie or TV show recommendation), I'm excited to partner with you on this journey!

I played Division I basketball in college and continue to watch (and play) whenever I can these days. Otherwise, you can typically find me curled up with my dog, Zorro, watching a movie or planning a trip with my sisters.
