I am very happy with our experience so far with Varsity Tutors. They matched my daughter with reading specialist Mary and she is wonderful! My 10 year old daughter feels happy after her sessions and believes her tutor has already helped her.

Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology. I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology, with a minor in Health and Medical Sciences. I have tutored extensively over the course of my life, starting in high school where I was a part of my school's community outreach program and visited elementary schools on a weekly basis to tutor students. I then went on to tutor for Kumon: Math and Reading Center for two years, where I worked with students from ages 5-18 on reading and writing, as well as mathematics. Throughout college, I volunteered at my local children's hospital, where I was a part of the School Program, and worked with the school teachers of my hospital-bound patients, where I was their personalized tutor and instructor responsible for ensuring that they would not fall behind their peers at school. I worked with students from ages 3-21, over an incredibly wide variety of subjects here. Also during college, I was a TA for Human Anatomy, where I taught the course twice a week to college students. I have tutored a wide variety of subjects, with particular emphasis on Biology, Mathematics, and Reading and Writing. I have dedicated a large portion of my life to tutoring children and ensuring that everyone gets access to this incredibly valuable tool: education. I want to make sure that every student gets the opportunity to show their best abilities, and I intend on helping my students put their best foot forward.

Hobbies

I love to read in my spare time! I enjoy reading memoirs of modern day scientists and am inspired to pursue a further pathway down the scientific field. I also love rowing and running, and I try to save my knees by alternating the two sports. Aside from athletic hobbies, I’m currently entering my cooking arc where I fill my fridge with endless ingredients and then attempt to turn them into a meal (mostly protein maxing).
