As a dedicated educator with a Master's in Special Education from Morningside College, I have over 2 years of tutoring experience and more than 20 years in the classroom. My passion lies in teaching foundational skills in reading and math, particularly through phonics and engaging methods that resonate with young learners. I believe in building strong relationships with my students, using their interests to create tailored lessons that foster genuine learning. My experience spans diverse educational roles, including instructional coaching, where I collaborated with teachers to enhance student outcomes. I am excited to bring my expertise in elementary education to tutoring, helping each student reach their full potential while fostering a love for learning. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy being outside, family time, and exploring history and geography, which often enrich my teaching approach.

I am interested in being outside in nature, especially working on our acreage. We have cattle, pigs, chickens, many cats, 2 dogs, and a garden that keeps me busy when I'm not tutoring. I also enjoy watching Sprint Car Racing, helping in my community, and being active at the gym.
