Certified Tutor

I am a current student at Dartmouth College interested in law, majoring in Government and minoring in Public Policy. Throughout the past four years, I have tutored students from around the world for the Reading and Writing section on the SAT as a certified tutor for the Schoolhouse/College Board program, assisted with writing middle school and high school-level essays in Arizona, taught grammar concepts to students aged 6-18, and mentored in Speech & Debate/Public Speaking. Though I tutor a variety of humanities-based subjects, I am most passionate about the SAT, English (both grammar and literature), the PSAT, essay writing, and Public Speaking. When tutoring students for standardized tests, I find that lesson interactivity and personalized practice questions are helpful in teaching a difficult concept, and reveal noticeable progress. I did Speech and Debate for seven years, and was ranked #1 in Arizona in Informative and Expository Speaking, and was #3 in the U.S. in Informative Speaking. I have coached middle and high school students in public speaking skills and speech construction, and can help perform research analysis. I understand that English assignments and reading-based standardized tests can be complicated and confusing, and my goal as a tutor is to demystify these topics for my students. I look forward to working with students, and making these materials fun and accessible.
