Certified Tutor

I'm a biology tutor with a Master's in Immunology from Tufts and a passion for making complex science clear, engaging, and fun. I specialize in immunology, but also tutor general biology, cell biology, microbiology, and virology from high school to graduate level. With a background in research and biotech, I love connecting big-picture concepts with real-world examples. I teach by telling the story behind the science, helping students truly understand, not just memorize. My goal is to spark curiosity, build confidence, and make science exciting and accessible.

One of the things that makes me a strong tutor is the way I learn myself. I have a hard time accepting information as axiomatic - I like to understand why something is true before moving forward. As I learn, if something new contradicts something I learned before, I prefer to investigate and clarify the discrepancy to the extent possible rather than just trying to remember the exception - of course, in science, there's still a lot we don't know yet! I believe this insistence on solid foundations makes me especially effective at explaining concepts to students who are struggling because I never skip over the "why" and "how." I also keep up with current scientific research, because its interesting and new discoveries help fill in the blanks I'm always working to close.


I tailor my teaching to each student's needs whether they thrive on big-picture discussions, need help organizing details, or want effective memorization tools. Ultimately, my objective is to help each student accomplish their learning goals.
