My name is Brandi Skipalis, and I have bachelor's degrees in Russian and Anthropology from the University of Florida and master's degrees in Social Work Policy and Administration from Florida State University and in Social Anthropology from the University of Manchester, which gives me a strong grounding in social studies and government subject matter, as well as in writing formal academic papers up through the graduate level. Although I have less than a year of formal tutoring experience, I have previously worked as a teaching assistant at the university level, as well as having a combined two decades of experience working with the adult education department of a local non-profit organization and doing professional trainings for non-profit organization staff and volunteers. I also have experience working with non-native speakers of English to improve their English-language writing for academic papers, as well as having experience in teaching people to use Windows and Microsoft Office programs, with particular expertise in Word and Excel. I have a strong commitment to helping students thrive in diverse learning environments, and I aim to create a supportive atmosphere where students feel confident to explore and master new skills. My approach is centered on understanding each student's unique learning style and needs, which allows me to create lessons that are engaging and effective and tailored to students' individual learning needs. I believe that every student has the potential to succeed, and I am dedicated to guiding them on their academic journey. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, learning new languages, and exploring different cultures, which further enriches my teaching perspective.
