Certified Tutor

I'm a graduate of Wilbur Wright College, and then studied Romance Languages with a concentration in Spanish and French at the University of New Orleans. Currently, I'm seeking a Business Management degree at Western Governors University. I have traveled extensively over the last ten years and used my language skills in my employment and to connect to and learn to understand all new cultures and people. One of my passions is learning more about the world through language, doing my best to understand others through their lens, and then using that understanding to build bridges and mutual appreciation. As a child of immigrants, I was the family tutor for language, and I loved that role. I later used that role to help me become an ESL tutor for my local community center. That experience provided me with many skills I would need moving forward, while also connecting me to some amazing people looking to better their lives. My teaching style is friendly and adaptable. I love sharing what I believe would be best for someone's specific situation, but I continuously adapt to my students' needs. I want learning to be measurable but, more importantly, fun. As someone who still uses tutors for continued language learning, I have been on both sides of the coin and realize that it's not always a one-size-fits-all situation. I tutor ESL, Spanish, and early-level French, and I love each subject and feel passionate about each. Some of my hobbies include being outdoors, photography, participating in local language groups, and growing my jungle of plants at home!
