I recently graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) with a B.S./M.S. in Computer Science. To complete my degree I took various math courses such as Multivariable Calculus, Discrete Math, and Differential Equations. Even though math is my favorite subject, my experience in teaching and tutoring has come from debate. Throughout middle school and high school I competitively debated and began teaching courses to younger students. This involved not only informing students on world events, but also teaching them critical thinking skills, communication, and logical reasoning. I believe to learn something new, you have to first establish a base level of understanding. Too often I hear students feel as if they understood the specific math problems they studied, but they felt different from those on the test. I believe math is about understanding why you are solving the problem. I want to tutor math so I can help students bridge this gap. I hope to specifically focus on high school and college students as I have the experience of preparing for college and its required standardized tests, college math courses, and math's practical applications (e.g. algorithms, big data analytics, AI).

Outside of computer science I like to hike and play video games. I also enjoy watching online videos about space and other technological breakthroughs. Finally, I have recently gotten into cooking and creating new and exciting meals.
