Certified Tutor

I am an educator with nearly eight years of experience in K-5 classrooms. My work has included serving as a lead teacher in 1st, 3rd, and 4th-grade classrooms. Currently, I am a K-5 Advanced Academics Specialist, providing enrichment and intervention to scholars.

I hold a degree in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. During my time as a Teach For America (TFA) Corps Member, I earned my K-6 teaching license. Later, I added an Academically and Intellectually Gifted (AIG) endorsement to my license by completing master's-level courses at Duke University. TFA's mission to achieve "One Day," where all students have access to equitable and rigorous education, deeply inspired me and continues to motivate my work in Title I schools.

My personal goal is to ensure that every child I work with receives a personalized learning experience, is celebrated for their strengths, and is encouraged to overcome the challenges they face. In addition to my role as an educator, I tutor elementary students in math and reading. I am passionate about this work because I recognize that a child's elementary education experience often sets the foundation for their future success and attitude toward learning.

Outside the classroom, I enjoy reading fantasy and science fiction, swimming, running, trying new baking recipes, and exploring hiking trails.
