I am a graduate of Park University where I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and the University of Southern Maine (USM) where I earned a Master's Degree in Education. During my time at USM I completed the teaching program and obtained my license to teach mathematics in grades 7 through 12. After teaching at a high school in Maine for 2 years, I moved to Kentucky and obtained my license to teach mathematics in grades 5 through 12. I currently teach mathematics to 8th graders at a Kentucky middle school. I am passionate about mathematics and helping students understand its applications to everyday life. The most satisfying part of tutoring for me is finding different ways to teach the content and getting that lightbulb moment. I love seeing students feel proud of themselves for meeting the intellectual challenge. I have taught all standard math courses that students experience in grades 7 through 12 up to and including Pre-calculus. If I had to pick one math course that I really enjoy, I would choose Trigonometry, because of its real-life applications from technology to construction. On a personal note, I love working on all kinds of puzzles that require flexible thinking. Flexible thinking is the key to staying sharp mentally.
