I have always had a love of learning which grew into a love for teaching. I obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Winthrop University in SC and later a Master's Degree in Reading Education from the University of Florida.
I have been teaching (in a public school setting) for 26 years (grades ranging from PK-grade 2). I also have experience with afterschool tutoring (grades 2-5).
Most of my teaching experience has been in Title 1 schools with inclusive classrooms. So each year I have a diverse group of students which includes students with special needs/challenges as well as English Language Learners.

Outside of school, I enjoy being in nature (daily walks, trips to the beach or springs). I also enjoy amateur photography (mostly taking pictures of the beauty I see in nature). When home, I enjoy music, reading, and puzzles.
