As a teacher-leader of 24 years, nothing matters more to me than helping students to find their own voice! Whether they are writing them, reading them, analyzing them, or then using them to command the world's stage, WORDS HAVE POWER! Once young people tap into that power, their lives are forever changed.
During my tenure, I have worked with thousands of students from coast-to-coast, from kindergarten through college, and from every background. We've crossed paths in the classroom, in enrichment programs, during my work as a nonprofit leader, and now as an education consultant. But no matter the space, the mission remains the sameto meet children where they are and then to structurally and supportively move them forward. With Ms. Crystal as your child's tutor, you will get the consummate blend of ELA best practices; research-based strategies; arts & technology integration; and yes, some good old-fashioned, "Baby, you've got this!" (which'll probably be laced with just a pinch of Southern twang ;-).
Finally, I'm a proud mother, a best-selling author, an acclaimed speaker, and an alum of Clark Atlanta University, where I majored in Mass Media Arts (Radio-Television-Film).
