Certified Tutor
I graduated from Tulane University with a double major in Psychology & English and recently completed my Master's in English in May. I plan to pursue a PhD in Psychology in the future and would love to share my passion for these subjects with you! I have worked with students from Kindergarten to College within both subjects and love to help students find their own niche and voice! I have also worked with students of varying degrees of ability and have extensive experience helping struggling students catch up. One of my favorite aspects of teaching English is helping you develop a strong writer's voice which will help guide the tone and structure of all your future essays in a way that makes sense to you. I like to begin by gauging how the student currently approaches writing, understanding what works well and what proves difficult before delving into tutoring. Instead of nitpicking minute details, I aim to help students recognize what works within their writing in order for them to develop editing skills with my guidance. I have completed my own senior research paper on Indigenous dance as a form of cultural practice and hegemonic resistance so I would love to help college students eloquently express their own subject interests. I have also previously worked with the Texas DFPS writing research and presenting at their ACF Region 6 conference.

I am currently working on publishing research on Indigenous Dance within Native Written stories which I have been lucky enough to present on! I love writing poetry and have been able to work with some legends such as Frank Choi and Khadijah Queen. Outside of writing I love to train my two dogs, a miniature schnauzer and my puppy Australian Shepherd. I also spend a lot of time creating visual art and am currently working on several multimedia paintings!
