Amanda: Florissant tutor

My journey into education and psychology has been both enriching and enlightening, underscoring my passion for helping others achieve their academic and personal goals. I completed my undergraduate education at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida. I majored in Psychology and minored in Visual Arts. Graduating with a 3.8 GPA, I was honored to be inducted into Psi Chi, a national honor society for psychology students. My academic achievement not only reflects my commitment to excellence but also my dedication to the field of psychology.
During my undergraduate studies, I worked as a note-taker for psychology courses, assisting fellow students with comprehensive notes and study guides essential for their success. This role honed my ability to distill complex information into accessible formats and reinforced my skills in communication and support.
Currently, I am employed as a paraprofessional, working with students from kindergarten through sixth grade. I have been involved in offering after-school intervention sessions. Particularly in 6th-grade math and literacy. These experiences have strengthened my capability to design and implement effective group lesson plans. Looking ahead, I am preparing to apply for a graduate program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Southern Connecticut State University. My goal is to further my expertise in psychology, with a focus on mental health.
I am eager to leverage my unique blend of skills and experiences to support students in their academic journeys. By tutoring, I hope to contribute to their meaningful educational pursuits while advancing my own path toward a graduate degree.

My interests and hobbies are a vibrant reflection of my personality and passions, each contributing uniquely to my life and well-being. Creating art is a central and deeply fulfilling aspect of my life. I primarily work with oil paint and clay. Art, for me, is not just a hobby but a therapeutic process that provides healing and a profound sense of peace. The act of creating allows me to channel my emotions and thoughts into tangible forms. In addition to my artistic endeavors, I have a keen interest in thrifting and reselling thrifted goods on eBay. I find great joy in discovering unique items and giving them new life through resale. This hobby satisfies my love for vintage and eclectic finds. It also offers a rewarding challenge in curating and presenting these items.
