During my preparation as a teacher, I was captivated by Jerome Bruner's Constructivist Theory of Learning and Cognitive Development (1961), where he believes in motivation for learning. He argued that interest in the subject matter is the best way to stimulate a child's thinking, teaching them how to be people and operate in a society. I also believe that children should be completely exposed to, and immersed in, the written word in order to achieve success. Students of all backgrounds should have enriching experiences with writing and reading. I aim to awaken their muse by teaching the joys of literature, storytelling and English, and get them to thrive and effectively communicate in the world because of it.
