Learning has always been a great passion of mine. To be able to share that passion with others, while also helping them to improve their performance, confidence, and abilities has always been highly appealing to me. I first had the opportunity to work with a student when I was in High School, an experience which allowed me to mentor a student who had difficulties with executive function, reading, and general struggles with his ADHD. As a neurodivergent person myself, being able to pass on some of the skills I have learned to help cope with, and adapt to, my difficulties in a neurotypical environment is something for which I am very passionate.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the University of Southern Mississippi in 2023; during my schooling, I had the honor of being inducted into Psi Chi, the honor society for Psychology majors, and to serve as vice-president of my school's Model United Nations team. I intend to return to school in the near future to earn my Ph.D in Clinical Psychology, as I have a particular interest in neurodivergence and psychopathology.
I first took the ACT in 2013 and was afterward inducted into the 30+ club at my High School. I am a strong test-taker and essay-writer and can be off superb help on any portion of the ACT. Additionally, I have a passion for writing (creative and technical), research, English literature, history, government, Psychology, and all of the natural sciences (Biology, Physics, Chemistry, etc.). I can tutor all of these subjects, and am looking forward to doing so with you!
As an introverted individual, I bring a calming presence to my tutoring sessions. I've been commended for my patience, compassion, and ability to approach complex problems with imagination. I firmly believe in the power of empathy in fostering meaningful tutor-student relationships. My background in psychology, coupled with my personal experiences, equips me with a unique empathetic energy that I am eager to bring to my interactions with students on the Varsity Tutors platform and beyond.
Outside of academia, I enjoy playing video games with friends, writing creatively, reading, playing Dungeons & Dragons, and spending time with my wife and our two cats, Abby and Arthur.

My first and oldest passion is reading, as I often found myself engrossed in stories since I first picked up a book. I was hyperlexic as a child, meaning I began reading books that would normally be far beyond what would normally be expected from other children my age. This passion for reading often got me into some trouble in school, as I would read during class time and have to have my books confiscated. Video games came a little later. I loved stories, so video games with complex fantasy worlds and long narratives were always the most appealing to me. In particular, I enjoyed the interactivity they provided while also offering avenues of non-linear or environmental storytelling. I first began writing creatively in middle school and quickly found that I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It was an outlet for what had often been described as my "overactive imagination" and, as with video games, something with which I felt I could properly interact. These interests all came together when I discovered Dungeons & Dragons, which I thoroughly believe is something everyone could benefit from playing, especially those children who might suffer from difficulties socializing. Through immersive role-playing experiences, I've witnessed firsthand the power of collaborative storytelling to foster creativity, teamwork, and empathy. Dungeons & Dragons transcends mere entertainment—it's a platform for shared adventures, collective problem-solving, and boundless imagination, making it an invaluable tool for fostering social skills and cognitive development in players of all ages. This experience reinforced my belief in the importance of experiential learning and hands-on engagement in fostering personal growth and development. In essence, my interests in reading, video games, creative writing, and Dungeons & Dragons reflect my deep-seated love for storytelling and exploration, as well as my growing understanding of the human psyche. These passions have not only enriched my life but also shaped my identity as a creative individual eager to share the joy of storytelling with others and explore the mysteries of the human mind through the lens of psychology.
