Certified Tutor

Hello. My name is Kevin and for the past 18 years I was a public school Social Studies teacher in Arizona for grades 7-12. I have spent 12 years as a high school teacher and 6 years teaching middle school. Most recently, I taught high school US Government and AP US Government. However, for most of my career I taught US and World History. Currently, I am a high school instructional coach. I work with teachers to fine tune their teaching practices to most benefit their students.

I believe that all kids can learn and success is always possible. In my experience, I have found that Social Studies is easier for students to comprehend and understand if you make it more than just random facts on paper. Whenever possible, I make the effort to show students how topics relate to their lives.

As a teacher in my classroom instruction, I use the most up to date, research tested instructional strategies with students to help them be as successful as possible. I will do the same as a tutor planning lessons with a variety of strategies to help you or your child be as successful as possible.
