Reading and writing are two of the best things in the world! I love reading because I feel that storytelling (in all its forms) helps us become better people, with a greater understanding of the world and an enthusiasm to learn more about it. Writing, too, is one of those things that helps me come to comprehend the world to a greater degree. I believe that when we write and tell stories, we understand better who we are.

I am a graduate of Utah State University and a full-time 7th grade English teacher. I spend my days supporting students in their learning in the fields of Writing, Reading, and Speaking/Listening. I have extensive experience and training in tutoring writing at the collegiate level and have worked with students in 6th-10th grade on their reading and writing skills. I love working specifically with the middle grades because it is such a powerful time to learn how to tell the story of you!

Outside of teaching, writing funky poetry, and trying to get my to-be-read list below 100 books at a time, I love to watch movies, play video games, take care of my house plants, and spend time outdoors.
