I have been teaching middle school Special Education since 2017. I co-teach classes in the general education setting and teach resource classes in the special education setting. I primarily teach English, Reading, and Math. I also work with students on behavior management, self-regulation, organizational skills, and social skills.
While core subjects are important, I also put a lot of energy and emphasis on promoting a growth mindset. There truly is no learning without making mistakes, and that can be a very uncomfortable fact. I encourage students to be brave enough to make mistakes and work through learning from them.
