Certified Tutor

I am working towards a BA at Mount Holyoke College in Spanish and Political Economy. I plan on going into a dual-degree program after I graduate next year (JD and MBA). I learned Spanish through my family but the most formative years of my learning came through being enrolled in a dual language school throughout elementary school. I continued studying throughout the rest of my schooling, spending two years dual enrolled as a highschooler taking classes at UConn. This is my fifth year tutoring and I pride myself in building relationships with the students that I tutor. I also think in tutoring that it's super important to meet students where they are-- whether that means revisiting material that they learned years ago but are unsure of or going beyond what is being learned in the classroom and helping them expand their knowledge. I have experience giving both studying and test taking tips, which can be extremely helpful as a student advances through their learning-- especially at an AP level. Beyond school based tutoring-- I am also passionate about tutoring conversational Spanish. Knowing a second language has proven to have countless benefits. I have experience tutoring both conversational Spanish and Spanish for school. I am passionate about tutoring because in high school, I was one of the students who needed tutoring. I thought that I would never understand what was going on in my calculus and physics classes and through tutoring I was able to become a different student. I ended the year with grades that I was not only proud of but that I had worked hard to achieve. I enjoy being able to offer a helping hand to students in that same way.
