I am currently pursuing a degree in Marriage and Family Studies through Brigham Young University. My degree is entirely online, and I have seen the difference it makes to receive help when you need it, especially in an online world! When I was in grade school, I was always participating and looking for answers. I wasn't satisfied until things made sense. I know what it feels like to be lost, and how wonderful it can be to finally grasp a subject. I also know what it feels like to get reassurance and a little extra help from someone. Both make a huge difference in my desire to continue learning! I have the most experience teaching children aged 3 years to 12 years, but some of my favorite subjects were those that I studied in high school. I have the most experience in helping students with reading comprehension and learning successful writing skills. These were two things that I worked on the most when I was in school, and I have seen the benefits of all my hard work and practice! Viewing myself more as a guide or mentor, I enjoy implementing techniques that encourage a growth mindset and grit. In my free time, I enjoy running, cooking and baking, and completing puzzles.
